Yeah Yeah Yeahs Tour
The American indie rock group Yeah Yeah Yeahs were established in 2000 in New York City. Band members are Karen O (pianist and vocalist), Nick Zinner (keyboardist and guitarist) and Brian Chase (drummer). During live performances, they are joined by David Pajo, a second guitarist. In 2009, Pajo became a touring member, replacing the original touring member Imaad Wasif. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released four albums: 2003’s Fever To Tell, 2006’s Show Your Bones, 2009’s It’s Blitz, and 2013’s Mosquito.
Brian Chase met Karen O met at Oberlin College, where they were both students. Karen met Nick Zinner after moving to New York following her transfer to New York University. The three started writing songs and rehearsing together. They also supported The White Stripes as well as The Strokes. In 2001, the band released their debut self-titled EP via their own record label called Shifty. In 2002, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed at the festival South by Southwest, toured in support of “Girls Against Boys” in the US and toured alongside Jon Spencer Blue Explosion in Europe. The band also had its own headlining tour in the UK.
In 2003, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs released Fever to Tell, their debut album. It was critically acclaimed and sold over 750,000 worldwide copies. “Maps,” the third single off the album, got major alternative radio airplay. Show Your Bones, their second album, came out in 2006. “Gold Lion,” the first single, peaked in the No. 18 spot on the UK’s Singles Chart. For most of 2006, the band toured the US and Europe. It’s Blitz, the third album from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, was released in 2009. Three singles were spawned from the album: “Skeletons,” “Heads Will Roll” and “Zero.” Mosquito, the band’s fourth album, was released in April 2013. It was preceded by “Sacrilege,” the first single, which was released in February.
