Nine Inch Nails Set Arena Tour Behind ‘Hesitation Marks’

Trent Reznor tests how much his fans can take before their heads explode. First came the announcement that Nine Inch Nails long awaited eighth studio album will be released September 3. Next, the lead single off the album, “Come Back Haunted,” has squirreled out of the studio early (it was set for radio release tomorrow at 2:30pm ET). Now we have the coup de grace of this information avalanche. NIN will embark on an extensive arena tour in late August.

We first reported back in February that a fall Nine Inch Nails tour was officially a go, but this is the first concrete dates we have to report. Following a slew of festival dates that dot the globe, the fun kicks off in earnest August 28 at St Paul’s Xcel Energy Center. The band will spend the entire fall on the road, hitting twenty-nine cities including stops in Las Vegas, Boston, Brooklyn, Miami and Montreal. Reznor and company are set to wrap things up in Calgary on November 25, but they may be having so much fun that they just plow through the remainder of the U.S.

Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor will provide opening support for the extensive run. Reznor will be joined on the stage by Robin Finck, Ilan Rubin, Alessandro Cortini, Adrian Belew and Josh Eustis.

The new album is entitled Hesitation Marks and will be released through Columbia Records. The details were revealed through the band’s Twitter account. Check out the first single from the record below.
