Twenty One Pilots Take Their Indie-Pop on the Road This Spring

Genre commitment phobics Twenty One Pilots have just revealed that they’re mapping out an extensive US tour this April in support of their most recent studio effort, Vessel.

The tour is scheduled to kick off on April 3rd in Knoxville, and will see the duo made up of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun make stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Reno and Salt Lake City, among other places, before wrapping up on May 16th with a show in Denver.

The last year has seen the pair varnished with praise. USA Today gushed that Twenty One Pilots turned in “the first great set of Bonnaroo 2013.”

Spin included the duo in its list of the “40 Best Things We Saw at Outside Lands 2013” and wrote that the “acrobatic, emo-rap, screamo-synthpop, cabaret-core duo … wiggle their way into your heart via intense genre hybridization (there’s definitely something for everyone) and their unique charm.”

Support is set to come from NONONO (YESYESYES, it is) and Hunter Hunted. Among other highlights, Twenty One Pilots are also set to make appearances at Delaware’s Firefly Music Festival (June 19th – 22nd), Tampa’s Big Guava Music Festival (May 2nd – 4th) and Dallas’ Suburbia Music Festival (Sunday, May 3rd – 4th).

Vessel, the pair’s third studio LP, was released in January of last year, and was a critical and commercial success.

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun were recently signed to New York-based record label and modern day alternative empire Fueled By Ramen, who they released their third studio album Vessel through. Last year, the duo successfully headlined shows in small to medium-sized clubs, served as one of two of the opening acts on Fall Out Boy’s North American Save Rock & Roll arena tour, and opened for Paramore on their Australian tour.
